Societe Generale – Work Shadowing

Societe Generale is one of the leading European financial services groups with presence in 66 countries and regions, and Hong Kong is the Asia-Pacific region headquarters. In this work shadowing scheme, you will have the opportunity to visit the Societe Generale Hong Kong office and interact with interns and female executives through sharing sessions, which will allow you to learn about their career journey and their experience working in the industry. You will also discover how STEM is applied in the financial services sector. Moreover, you will also connect with specialists from different departments to gain a deeper understanding of their work and experiences, which can help you plan your ideal career path. Participating in this work shadowing experience can also enhance your CV, making you a more competitive candidate!

State Street – Work Shadowing

State Street is one of the world's largest asset management companies and the second largest custodian bank in the world. This summer, you will have the unique opportunity to visit the State Street Hong Kong Office to gain a better understanding of the daily operation of a multinational firm. During the visit, you will learn about the development and prospects of the financial industry and interact with professionals to gain insights into their career paths and the application of STEM in the industry. Learn from their experiences to better plan for your academic and career prospects, enabling you to discover your ideal career. Additionally, you will also have the chance to participate in mock interviews and learn how to highlight your own strengths, thereby enhancing your competitiveness!

Date: August 22 – 24, 2023 (Tuesday to Thursday)

Venue: State Street Hong Kong Office (Central)

GGT "Explore STEM Industry Trend" Parents' Talk

Understanding the latest trends of science and technology is crucial for career planning. This is why TWF is inviting parents of GGT participants to listen to guest speakers share their insights on STEM courses, learn how to effectively communicate with their children about study and career goals, and understand trends in information technology and other relevant industries. We hope parents will gain a deeper understanding of technology-related career paths, and will be better equipped to make informed decisions with their children about career and study options, providing strong support for their children’s future development.

Morgan Stanley ‒ English for STEM

Are you looking for more opportunities to speak to others in English this summer? GGT is very excited to be launching English for STEM, a conversation-based English learning programme! In collaboration with Morgan Stanley, spend some time participating in various activities each week with corporate volunteers to improve your communication skills and get more comfortable speaking in a different language!  

 

Certificates and 1000 points will be awarded to participants who have attended at least 7 sessions! Regardless of your skill level, this is a judgement-free zone, so don’t be nervous!

 

Date: 8 WEEKLY (Tuesdays OR Thursdays) sessions between July 4 – August 24, 2023  

Time: 6:15 pm – 6:55 pm  

Quota: 30 participants (on a first come, first served basis; priority will be given to F.4 students or above)
